Embroidery Stitches

Machine embroidery stitches can be changed to enhance the embroidery pattern based on the flow and pattern of the stitches.  There is ability to overlap stitching to heighten the stitch for additional effect.

Types of stitches are...

Satin stitching - This is typically utilized for narrower stitching such as lettering or on a pattern like a birds beak because it is narrow area to fill.

Understitching - This is utilized to start a base for stitching and also to prevent shrinking of the fabric while stitching a large ares.  There are several different styles of understitching depending on the density requirement.

Density - Stitches will be course stitching or very fine stitching.  Based on areas in a pattern, small areas would require a course stitching to be visible.

Running -  This stitch is also used in hand embroidery, and is a single line stitch to make a line.  This type of a stitch is utilized in quilting designs.

Many stitches that are considered a fill stitch can have a pattern programmed on the surface to create an additional texture of the embroidery.

Most of the machines have the ability to repeat a stitching pattern as a mirror image of the first stitching pattern.  There are many different avenues to create your pattern when digitizing and adding stitch pattern enhancements.
