Embroidery Digitizing

Digitizing designs is the next level that can be accomplished after knowing the typical stitiching is accomplished with an embroidery design.  There are several programs that can be purchased to assist in digitizing (utilizing a picture or illustration and creating a stitching design from it).

Programs that are utilized to digitize with need to be compatible with your machine.  Some digitizing is machine specific.  It is always good to have a couple of programs to work with depending on the type of design that needs to be embroidered.  Digitizing can take many hours of work depending on the picture or illustration you are designing from.  The more the colors in the design, the more time it will take to digitize.

Once you learn how to digitize, then the sky is the limit on designs.  My uncle is a cartoonist and I have taken many of his cartoons and digitized them and put them on items for sale.  Also, creating quilting patterns is another avenue of digitizing and this can make some pretty cool quilts!
